The JB pickleball scene has grown a lot since this guide was first published. More venues have opened, prices have shifted, and a few spots have levelled up their facilities significantly. This is the updated version for 2026, covering the best courts across every budget, from RM20/hr floodlit outdoor to full-service indoor complexes with cafes and coaching.
If you played here in 2024 or early 2025, things look different now. There are serious training facilities, beginner programs, and late-night options that simply did not exist two years ago.
Cheapest Courts in JB
Three venues hold the line at RM20/hr off-peak. All three are very different experiences.
Forum Group @ Toppen in Tebrau: RM20/hr, open until 2am. Four indoor courts inside Toppen Shopping Centre. The late-night hours are the main draw. Walk-ins are usually fine on weekday afternoons, and you have a full food court downstairs when you are done. If you are a night owl or want to fit in a game after dinner, nothing in JB competes on timing.
Pickleboleh in Iskandar Puteri: RM20/hr off-peak, 12 floodlit outdoor courts at EduCity. JB's largest outdoor complex. The courts are well-maintained and the open-air setting makes it a proper outdoor experience. Location is the catch. Roughly 35 minutes from JB Sentral, so it suits players in the west and south of the city better.
Ponderosa Golf & Country Club in Taman Ponderosa: RM20/hr before 5pm. Eight outdoor courts in a resort setting. You get proper facilities: dining, a swimming pool, changing rooms. Non-members are welcome. If you want to make a full day of it rather than just a court booking, Ponderosa is the pick.
Best for Beginners
Two venues stand out here, for different reasons.
JuzDink Pickleball in Skudai: RM38/hr weekday off-peak. The free intro session for first-timers is unique in JB. No other venue does this. Staff are genuinely helpful, courts are air-conditioned, and the vibe is relaxed. Open daily from 8am to 1am. About 30 minutes from JB Sentral, but worth the drive if you are brand new to the sport.
D Pickle Zone in Permas Jaya: RM30/hr off-peak. JB's biggest venue runs regular beginner classes and open play sessions. With 14 indoor and 4 outdoor courts, there is always a game going regardless of when you show up. The sheer size means you can almost always get a court. Good for beginners because there is always a crowd and someone willing to help you figure things out.
Best Full-Service Indoor Venue
KICKS, The Pickle Exchange in Taman Gembira: RM45/hr off-peak. KICKS is the most complete pickleball social experience in JB. VIP courts, a tournament court, an in-house cafe (Seven Oaks Bakehouse), and a gear shop under one roof. Peak pricing hits RM70/hr, but the facilities match. Ten minutes from JB Sentral. If you want court time plus food and new paddles in one stop, this is it.
Best for Serious Training
Hawk Shark Sports Club in Johor Jaya: RM40/hr off-peak. The Titan ball machine changes what you can do in a solo session. Hawk Shark is the only JB venue with one, and it puts them in a category of their own for players focused on improving. Professional coaching is available, courts are air-conditioned, and booking goes through their own website. About 20 minutes from JB Sentral.
Biggest Venue in JB
D Pickle Zone in Permas Jaya: 18 courts total. Fourteen indoor across VIP and standard configurations, plus 4 outdoor courts. Beginner classes, open play, tournaments, a cafe, and showers. RM30/hr off-peak makes it competitive on price for the scale you get. This is the venue you take visitors to when you want to show them what JB pickleball looks like in 2026.
Northern JB
55 Gatheround in Kulai: RM30/hr off-peak, 14 indoor courts. The obvious pick for players in Kulai and the northern corridor. Air-conditioned, training ball machine on site, bookable via PlaySports Together. If you are coming from Senai or further north, this saves a 40-minute round trip into central JB.
